Uncorked: A Wine Tasting of Premium California Wines
December 5, 2013 – It was a lovely Thursday afternoon last December 5, 2013 at The Sub-Zero and Wolf showroom where guests enjoyed the experience of a California vineyard through a selection of distinct and premium wines. Several notable architects and designers not only got to indulge their senses with a roster of exquisite wine flavors, they also learned about the basics of wine appreciation that gave them a deeper understanding of these delicious products of nature.
A total of five wines were sampled during this affair – Beringer Sparkling White Zinfandel, Ferrari-Carano Fume Blanc 2012, Chateau St. Jean Chardonnay 2011, Cheateau St. Jean Pinot Noir 2008, and Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon 2009. Each wine was paired with a specific appetizer that matched perfectly in flavor and texture. Kathy Yao-Santos, Chief Operating Officer and Marketing Director of Happy Living Philippines Corporation masterfully explained the characteristics of each wine variety. She conducted the wine tasting with much enthusiasm and passion that kept the guests absorbed and entertained as they sat back and listened intently. With so many choices abound, the afternoon’s affair helped sharpen everyone’s wine selection skills. For most of them, wining and dining just got more interesting!
Also shared during the event was a discussion on how to achieve the perfect conditions for wine storage. Guests became enlightened about the four deadliest enemies of wine – temperature, humidity, light, and vibration. With the help of Sub-Zero’s line of Wine Storage units, vino enthusiasts are assured that their most prized collection is preserved flawlessly. True to its history of superior preservation, the Sub-Zero Wine Storage has truly studied and perfected the art of keeping wine.
