March 28, 2015 – Revolutionizing the way you look at healthy meals, Sub-Zero and Wolf puts a spin on traditionally unhealthy dishes to come up with healthier options that are just as delectable! During the Food Revolution cooking demonstration, held at its exclusive showroom in Makati last March 28, 2015, corporate chefs Gio Besa and Joyce Santos showed guests just how easy it is to whip up healthy and delicious recipes. Through alternative ways of cooking and easy substitutions, you still get the same flavorful result!
First on the menu were Sweet Potato Oven Fries and Kale Chips. A great alternative to French fries and potato chips, these appetizers were a crowd favorite! Aside from kale and sweet potato, that contain lesser calories than regular potato, the chefs chose to bake them using Wolf Oven’s Dual Convection System, providing uniform heat across all racks resulting in consistently crisp fries and chips without deep frying. The appetizers were followed by Roasted Spiced Pumpkin Soup served with freshly baked Focaccia Bread. Focaccia bread, along with other dishes, is now made simple with the touch of a button thanks to the Wolf Convection Steam Oven’s recipes mode. This feature eliminates the guesswork in cooking with pre-programmed time and temperature settings for a variety of dishes, making sure you come up with consistently perfect results every time.
Next on the menu were Ratatouille with Meatballs, and Chicken Quinoa and Broccoli Casserole. Made with the Wolf Electric Steamer and Wolf Convection Steam Oven’s Convection Humid mode respectively, the chefs were able to seal in the natural moisture and flavor of the ingredients allowing guests to enjoy a filling meal that was both light and healthy!
For dessert, taking the spotlight was the Chocolate Tofu Cheesecake with Fresh Fruit Medley. An interesting spin on a classic chocolate cheesecake recipe, the chefs substituted silken tofu for eggs and whipping cream to achieve the same creamy texture sans the calories. Paired with a rich cup of espresso expertly brewed with the new Wolf Coffee System, it was the perfect end to a healthy and scrumptious meal!
